Fire damages empty Turlock house

— Firefighters spent a couple of hours Wednesday afternoon putting out flames at an empty house at 1425 East Ave. in Turlock.

No one was hurt. The home is not hooked up to utility services, and it wasn’t supposed to be occupied. But neighbors reported there may have been people staying in the three-bedroom house, according to Turlock Fire Chief Tim Lohman.

“This is at least the second time we’ve been out there recently because of a fire,” Lohman said. The last blaze there was several weeks ago, and Lohman said his department hadn’t been able to contact the property’s owner since then.
