Info: The Modesto Library is presenting a spectacular Bubble Mania Science show which allows children to discover the fun and science of bubbles. Free tickets are available one hour prior to the show at the Children’s Department desk. For more information, call the Modesto Library (209) 558-7814.

What: PARISH MOVIE NIGHT

Info: St. Joseph’s Catholic Church is hosting a family movie night featuring “The Sound of Music.” Free popcorn and lemonade will be provided and guests are invited to bring cookies to share. It’s free and open to the public. For more information, call Tammy, (209) 551-4973, ext. 207.

What: FOSTER OR ADOPTIVE PARENTING MEETING

When: Tuesday, 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Where: Sierra Vista Child and Family Services, 101 Park Ave.

Info: Sierra Vista Child and Family Services is hosting a free orientation class for anyone interested in learning more about becoming a foster or adoptive parent. For more information or to register to attend, call Vance Kelley, (209) 491-0872.

What: EXERCISE CLASSES

Info: The Healthy Aging Association offers free Young At Heart group exercise classes for 60 years and better. Classes range from strength training, aerobics or tai chi. The strength training classes use tubes for resistance and the exercises can be done standing or sitting, depending on the participant’s ability. Tubes are available for first-timers at each site. What: GRIEF SHARE SUPPORT GROUP

When: Sundays beginning Jan. 5, 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Where: Hilmar Covenant Church, 20056 American Ave.

Info: The Hilmar Covenant Church is offering a 13-week educational and support group for adults who have lost a loved one through death. The program is part teaching seminar and part support group. It will be lead by Carolyn Scott Ahlem, a licensed marriage and family therapist who specializes in the area of grief and loss. There is a $15 charge for a workbook. Scholarships are available.
