Jack Heinsius: Don’t forget that immigrant baby

December 30, 2013

Coming up to bat this election season, along with a Santa-size bag full of other thorny issues, is immigration reform.

Some of us apparently think that the people who are the objects of this reform are all felons who flew, first class, into the USA with the object of seizing high-paying, career-track jobs like tomato picking, dishwashing and diaper changing from deserving citizens.

Perhaps when we consider this issue we should remember another couple, who along with their newborn baby, were forced into immigration by the forces of greed, power and self interest.
