STANISLAUS COUNTY — From Dec. 13 through midnight Sunday, officers with 12 Stanislaus County law enforcement agencies conducting a DUI crackdown arrested 67 people on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Additionally, 58 people were arrested for having outstanding DUI warrants.
The DUI arrests are down from 2012, when there were 72 during the same 10-day period.
Also this year, there were no DUI-related traffic fatalities reported during the period, said Ceres police Sgt. Chris Perry, a spokesman for the Avoid the 12 campaign.
Over the next several days, extra DUI patrols will be deployed in Modesto.
The California Highway Patrol also is deploying all available officers from 6 p.m. today through midnight Wednesday.
