Cyclists take light show on the road in Modesto

local@modbee.comDecember 22, 2013

More than 100 people decorated and put lights on all types of bicycles for what organizer Nannette Hawkhurst described as a “leisurely yet attention-grabbing ride through Modesto” on Friday to celebrate Christmas.

The only limitation on the free event was that participants had to be at least 21 because they would be making frequent stops at “watering holes” for food and drinks.

The bikers departed from Roseburg Square at 6:30 p.m. and rode the path on the Virginia Corridor, reaching McHenry Avenue at 7:15 p.m., after which they headed downtown.
