Sometimes a solution to a problem can be found by looking at a situation differently. Two news stories staring at each other across the page divide in The Modesto Bee on Dec. 17: Judge: NSAs cellphone spying likely illegal (Page A4) and Survey: Drivers ignore cellphone use warnings (Page A5) gave me new insight. If NSAs mission is to keep Americans safe, have it track the calls of those who drive while texting or talking, then notify law enforcement agencies in real time.
Changing the behavior of those who drive with instruments of electronic distraction shouldnt take that long. I can easily imagine the number of lives saved would be exponentially higher than what NSA can now claim.
