Dave Pelucca: Without farms there’s no food

December 21, 2013

Regarding “Choice: Farms or jobs” (Dec. 14, online) and “Choice: Farms or Jobs” (Dec. 15, Page A1): Here we go again. The city is trying to eat up the county to solve its “No Job” problem. California wants pavement and warehouses and doesn’t care about good dirt!

Evidently, the idea that our food is made in the grocery store back room is true. Wake up city people! When good dirt is paved over you might go hungry. When Stanislaus County is paved over, don’t come crying to me. I won’t share my food!

Thank you to farmers Paul and Jake Wenger. Stand firm.
