Central Catholic Raiders take off for CIF State Championship (with video)

December 19, 2013

The Central Catholic High School football players boarded their bus for Southern California Thursday morning en route to the CIF State Championship Bowl game.

The Raiders will play Bakersfield Christian on Friday at 4 p.m. for the Division 4 crown. The game will be televised on CSN Bay Area.

Central is eyeing its second straight state title.

After arriving in Carson, the players and coaches will participate in a walk-through at a local football stadium to go over final plans for Friday's game.

Our Debbie Noda was at the sendoff and will have video of their departure and more stories shortly.

Bee sports writer Brian VanderBeek will be in Carson reporting on the game and provide full coverage on Friday night. He'll also have a look at Bakersfield Christian for a story that will appear later today at modbee.com and in Friday's Bee.
