Charles Garza: Hanline deserves Denair’s support

December 18, 2013

Great reporting in Saturday’s paper on Denair, the school board and interim superintendent Walt Hanline (“Mood testy for Denair trustees; Superintendent’s resignation rejected,” Page B1). It is unfortunate the teachers really do not understand school finance. The public wants the best education for their children. However, the economy’s condition makes that issue emotionally packed.

When it’s good, it’s good. When it’s bad, the teachers union wants no part of it.

Their solution is to get rid of those individuals that understand the situation. Hanline is in their way. They want him out.

Very, very, unfortunate. He is not the cause, nor the cancer that created the condition. He is the doctor trying to fix it, in spite of the patient’s childish actions.
