STANISLAUS COUNTY — The Stanislaus County Office of Education launched a countywide initiative at the start of the school year focused on increasing graduation rates in Stanislaus County. Called Destination Graduation, the goal is to increase the percentage of students who graduate from local high schools.
Did you know the current graduation rate in Stanislaus County is near the state average at 78 percent? Superintendent of Schools Tom Changnon thinks the county can do better. Outreach efforts being discussed include mentoring programs, summer learning camps for at-risk students, summit meetings to focus on best practices and parental involvement programs.
