MODESTO — The wishes, for the most part, are pretty simple. Dorothy, 11, would like art stuff and books. Jackie, 12, hopes for girly stuff and hair supplies. And 4-year-old Alex would love Ninja Turtles and Hot Wheels.
These are some of the wishes left on the Soroptimist Community Christmas Tree. With 11 days to go, co-chairwoman JoAnn Found said, 1,361 tags, each representing a needy child, remain on the tree.
We have a short season this year and were about 300-400 tags behind where weve been in the past three years at this time, Found said in an email.
The tree is on the top floor of Vintage Faire Mall, in front of Forever 21.
