TURLOCK — Whats the difference between Santa Claus and a model-train enthusiast? Santa says, Ho, ho, ho, and the other says, H-O. H-O. H-O.
Get it? Then go ahead and groan at what a bad joke it is.
Dont get it? Then run it by one of the exhibitors at the San Joaquin Valley Toy Train Operators show this weekend at the Stanislaus County Fairground in Turlock.
The show runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
In addition to the many detailed, painstakingly created train displays that will be up and running, there will be raffle drawings on the hour. Raffle tickets are $1 or two cans of food to benefit United Samaritans Feed the Hungry program.
Prizes include shirts and hats, with the grand prize an O-scale board with the train and track.
Santa Claus will be at the show, giving out wooden train whistles and candy and posing for photos. Tickets are $5 a person or $10 for a family.
