Aerial video from Tuolumne River Trust shows Rim fire devastation

November 24, 2013

The Tuolumne River Trust has released an aerial video about the damage done by the Rim fire to the watershed.

The two-minute video was made with LightHawk, a Wyoming-based group that puts aviation to use on environmental causes. It shows before-and-after footage of the fire, which started Aug. 17 and burned more than a quarter-million acres in the Stansilaus National Forest and Yosemite National Park.

The trust, which has a Modesto branch office, is using the video to raise awareness about the need for watershed restoration. It can be viewed at www.tuolumne.org.
