    • How we help those in need:

LearningQuest provides foundational education for adults in reading, writing, math and English so adults can read to their children, help their children do well in school, pass a GED test or a workforce readiness test, and go on to college, vocational training or a living wage job.

    • Individuals and/or families assisted per month:

We serve about 600 adults per month and about 1,000 per year. Our students usually are 20 to 40 years of age, unemployed or underemployed, have families – often a single parent – and low-income. Most are seeking to change their lives through education and find hope through learning.

    •  How a $10 donation helps:

A book of bus passes to get to and from classes

    A novel or children’s book

Supplies for crafts and snacks for five children in family literacy

    •  A $25 donation:

Two workbooks and a book of bus passes

Spanish/English dictionaries for an English class

A tutor supply box with basic teaching supplies

    •  A $50 donation:

    A half-scholarship for one student

Curriculum workbooks to serve a student for six months

A seat in an online GED program

    •  A $100 donation:

A one-month scholarship for a student to attend GED classes

Books and calculators to serve two students for six months

Seven children’s books for a family and a ready-for-school backpack with supplies

Kristina Miller came to LearningQuest a few years ago as a student.

She performed so well that the organization hired her as a tutor.

She since has been promoted to an assistant tutor for general education development.

Kristina’s husband, Delton, also went through LearningQuest to improve his WorkKeys score so he could enter training for welding. He also earned his GED.

Delton Miller recently lost his welding job but has the skills to find a new position.

The couple and their 8-year-old twins are looking toward a bright future.
