Yosemite Community College District trustees appoint two to bond oversight committee

November 20, 2013

The Yosemite Community College District Board of Trustees has appointed Larry McElhaney and Thomas Solomon to serve two-year terms on the YCCD Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee.

The committee’s primary function is to inform the public regarding the use of bond funds and to review expenditures and to prepare an annual report for YCCD’s $326.1 million bond measure, which was passed by voters in November 2004 to finance improvements at Columbia College and Modesto Junior College, and to acquire land for possible college outreach sites.

The committee is still seeking to fill a vacancy for a student representative, which is open to any student attending Columbia College. Employees, officials, vendors, contractors or consultants of the district are not eligible to serve on the committee.

Applications can be obtained from the YCCD Chancellor’s Office, 2201 Blue Gum Ave. in Modesto, by calling (209)575-6509 or going to www.yosemite.edu/bond/committee. Applications will be accepted until a sufficient qualified applicant pool is reached.
