Sherry Folks: Storer service is all about safety

November 19, 2013

In response to Sue Nowicki’s article “Bus safety concerns raised” (Page B1, Nov. 10): The first paragraph says Mary Meusburger simply had a question about the Storer bus her severely disabled daughter Katie rides. Later the article says Mary has been complaining for years.

One does not need a higher education to realize that anything mechanical (such as buses) can break down, and will most likely need repairs. Storer takes every precaution to prevent breakdowns. Storer policies are even more stringent than the law requires for service and inspections of their buses. Maintaining and cleaning of buses goes on 24/7 in the Storer yard.

As a 19-year employee of Storer Transportation I assure you there is something very wrong with the insinuations brought forth by this article. I know what it takes to be an employee for Storer Transportation – safety, safety, safety and more safety.
