BAD TO THE BONZ BadtotheBonz Boxing Gym is having tryouts for its summer boxing program, as well as providing adult and youth classes. We are having a boxing clinic for coaches that will be given by professional coach Tony Avila, former coach of Modesto PAL boxing club and now owner of Bad to the Bonz Boxing Gym. The summer special for youth is $150 for two months, includes new equipment. Ages 5-16. MODESTO TURKEY TROT Signups are being held for the Modesto Turkey Trot and Gobbler Run to be held Thanksgiving morning (Thursday, Nov. 28) at Tuolumne Regional Park, 1200 Tioga Drive, Modesto. The 5-kilometer race starts at 9:30 a.m. and the 5K walk at 9:35 a.m. The races for boys and girls ages 13-and-under begin at 8:45 a.m. and 9 a.m., respectively. The cost for those who preregister before Nov. 22 is $25 (5k run/walk with T-shirt), $20 (5k run/walk without T-shirt or 13-and-under half-mile with T-shirt) and $15 (13-and-under half-mile without T-shirt). ALL-STAR WATER GAMES The top high school senior water polo players from the Modesto Metro Conference and the Central California Conference will square off in an all-star match on Nov. 23 in Turlock. The four-match event, pitting the Stanislaus District’s large-school conferences, will start at 2 p.m. at Turlock High School’s Steve Feaver Aquatics Center. The four games will pit first- and second-team all stars in both boys and girls. Cost is $5.
