At last, it looks like the Modesto area will be getting a measurable amount of rain.
The National Weather Service says several systems will start moving into the area late Monday, bringing a chance of rainfall that increases through Wednesday.
Tuesday is expected to be cloudy with a chance of rain, with rainfall likely by Wednesday. Temperatures will be cooler, as well, with highs in the mid 60s and lows in the 40s. Winds are expected up to 10 mph.
The rain will slicken leaves on the ground and oil on the streets; authorities advise caution when driving, particularly in the first storm of the season.
Conditions are expected to clear by Friday, with the weekend looking clear and cool. Highs will be in the upper 60s with lows in the 40s to 50s.
