The toasty afternoon temperatures we have been having are a thing of the past, at least for now. And there may be some rain in the offing next week.
After weeks of afternoon highs in the mid to high 70s, Modesto will get up to only about 67 Friday, according to the National Weather Service. Sunny conditions will give way to a few clouds by Saturday, though any rain is expected to remain north of us.
Come next week, though, another system will move in, bringing the chance of rain to the area by Tuesday night and Wednesday. High temperatures are expected to continue to hover around the mid 60s, with lows in the 40s.
