Raymond Ghiotto: Veterans deserve thanks

November 14, 2013

Tobruk, Normandy, Bloody Ridge, Chosin Reservoir, Tet Offensive, Hamburger Hill, Fallujah, Kandahar – most Americans will not recognize these places. Yet all of them have a huge thing in common, Americans fought and died in so many places so far from home. They came from all over the country to defend us and our way of life. They truly are our heroes; they gave up so much for us. Can we ever repay them? No, but we can give them the honor they so much deserve. They have earned that and so much more.
