Bogar Lopez Martinez: GOP should focus more on immigration reform

November 14, 2013

One of the biggest debates in Congress is about immigration reform. This bill, if approved, will enable most resident aliens to become legally permitted to live in this country. It will also, if approved, give them a path into the naturalization process to become U.S. citizens.

The issue with this bill, though, is that Republicans aren’t giving it as much thought as other bills. The best way the Republican Party is going to be motivated to action is by pressuring them. People should send letters to their congress members to persuade them to do more with this bill. We can still help it get passed by our actions.
