Doug Farrow: Conservative extremists fly right

November 14, 2013

Usually a negative connotation, “extremist” is misused and misunderstood. We need extremists to get things done. Do you remember the first (Boston) Tea Party? I realize you weren’t there. Extremists were protesting high taxes going to England with no say on spending.

The tea party has “extreme” views. It knows the government has too much of your tax money, extremely mismanaged and often not accounted for. Government does not know how to make money. This government spends your money on a socialist agenda giving a lot to foreign countries to do projects conservatives would not even vote to do here.

The tea party would let private industry make decisions on alternative energy sources when they become more cost-effective. Private industry wouldn’t subsidize anybody. The profit motive would generate research, development and production. A tea party-GOP government would have a balanced budget.

Left-wing extremists twice decided the government should and could control health care, the most complex one-sixth of our economy. President Barack Obama said he would fundamentally transform America. He is, but not as he imagined. Obamacare will destroy the American economy. His other ventures either failed outright or could have been done the proper way.
