Common Core math is topic of discussion in Modesto

“Common Core mathematics: How does it all add up?” is the topic of a free presentation from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Mary Stuart Rogers Theater at the Gallo Center for the Arts, 1000 I St., Modesto.

David Foster, executive director of the Silicon Valley Mathematics Initiative, will discuss how junior high and high school math courses are changing to align with the Common Core Math Standard and how the new standards will prepare students for college and careers.
