Modesto teen walking home from school robbed

November 4, 2013

A 15-year-old boy was robbed at gunpoint while walking home from school in east Modesto on Monday afternoon. The boy was walking in the 1400 block of Staci Lane, northeast of Orangeburg and Lakewood avenues, at about 2:50 p.m. when a man pointed a handgun at the teenager and took his backpack and cellphone, said Modesto police spokeswoman Heather Graves. Police searched the area for the robber – described as a white man, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, wearing a mask and gray hooded sweat shirt – but were unable to locate him. He was last seen jumping fences in the area, Graves said.
