Lindsey Barth: Health plan too expensive

November 3, 2013

After talking twice on the phone with agents of Covered California I have learned that the health plan I have now costs $326 more with Covered California per month than on the open health care market. It appears that the middle class is going to get stuck paying for the poor and their health plans on Covered California. So, if you work hard and make enough money to retire before 65, then the government will figure out ways to get money out of you so that you can help take care of the people who did not work hard, are on drugs or alcohol, lazy or irresponsible concerning their finances and life choices.

Somehow this is considered fair and right. Take from those who work hard and give to those who do not work hard. Great system! Thank you, Mr. President and Democrats in Congress, for passing the Affordable Care Act without reading it. For those of you who are going to use Covered California for your health insurance, good luck. You will need it. One year from now we will see how poor this health care plan is but it will be too late to repeal.
