Teresa Vandenburg: MID board needs Wenger and Sabatino

November 2, 2013

Having attended the MID meetings when the water sale to San Francisco was discussed, I was shocked how out of touch the board, the manager and the lawyer were with the ratepayers of MID. There are two people who are running for the MID board who attended these meetings to protect your right to your water. They are Jake Wenger, running in Division 4, and Carmen Sabatino in Division 2.

By their actions, they have already shown their intention to protect the ratepayers of MID and make sure water is available to area farmers, which was the original intent of the MID, thereby preserving Modesto’s motto, “Water, Wealth, Contentment, Health,” i.e. the economic stability of Modesto.
