Scott Hardman: Endorsements benefit Measure X

November 2, 2013

I am disappointed that the Modesto Police Officers Association has made political endorsements based on which candidates will be most beneficial to its campaign to pass Measure X.

For Modesto City Schools board, they endorsed two criminal defense lawyers and a recent college graduate. For Modesto City Council, the police union continues its unlikely trend by endorsing a convicted criminal in the District 2 race.

How can Modesto police officers say that they want to lower crime when they wholeheartedly endorse criminals and the lawyers that defend criminals?
