Vanessa Czopek: Local authors make fair successful

November 1, 2013

To the 35 local authors who participated in Stanislaus County Library’s Sept. 21 Third Annual Local Author Fair, my sincere thanks for their participation. From Michele A.B. McKenzie’s children’s books, “Beaver’s Big Problem” and “Beaver’s Big Discovery” to Shirley Potterton’s adult self-help book, “Stable Wisdom: Surviving Midlife with Style,” those who attended were able to meet the authors of a wide variety of books for children, teens and adults. Authors sold, signed and discussed their books to the delight of hundreds who came out to explore books on that Saturday morning.

To make it easier for folks to find them, most of the works of our local authors are in the 800s section (Literature) of the nonfiction area of the Modesto Library. I encourage anyone looking for a good book by one of our many talented local authors to check them out today. Happy reading!
