Faith in Foster Farms

October 29, 2013

My husband, Bill Gwin, and I ran the Sav Mor Markets in five Stanislaus County towns for 54 years (since 1948, starting in Hughson). In that time I do not recall ever getting a Foster Farms chicken returned to the stores.

The grandson has done a great job carrying on the reputation of his grandfather, Max Foster. When he expressed his wish to work with Max, Max told him, “You must be up at 4a.m. to ride the route with me and learn and earn your way up.” This was told to my husband by Max.

He will do whatever it takes to make better conditions, if that’s what is needed.
