CHP seek witnesses to Highway 132 crash

ModestoOctober 28, 2013

— A Modesto woman suffered major injuries when her car crashed into a tree off of Highway 132 on Monday.

Melissa Linhares, 26, was traveling east when her 2004 Hyundai made a sharp right turn and drove off the highway west of Paradise Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The car smashed into a large tree, and Linhares was trapped inside for more than 30 minutes, said Sgt. Rick Okazaki.

She was taken by a helicopter to Memorial Medical Center, he said.

Several people called to report the accident, including the driver of a semi truck who originally was thought to have been involved. “We are still investigating whether or not any of the witnesses were involved,” Okazaki said.

Anyone with information about the accident can call investigating officer R. Kennell at (209) 545-7440.
