Steve Hoek: Obamacare not affordable

October 28, 2013

Mr. Obama, I thank you for your misleading information concerning the Affordable Care Act. It may be affordable for those who will be subsidized by people like me, the taxpayer, but it is not affordable to me. Calling it “affordable health care” is an out-and-out lie. Thanks to your law, my insurance premium went up over $100 a month and my deductible doubled. I see nothing affordable about this at all.

As House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi stated, “But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what’s in it, away from the fog of the controversy.” This is the most absurd statement I have ever read or heard. That is par to jumping off the ledge to see how far down it is. I suggest, Ms. Pelosi, you try reading the bill to find out what is in it.

Now that “we” have passed the bill and see that it contains dung and is not affordable to those of us who are not subsidized, what are your plans to fix it?
