Why tax us $156 million?

October 23, 2013

Measure X will cost the taxpayers $156 million over the six years it will run. The city has said it has a deficit of about $8.5 million. Why do they want to tax us for more than three times the deficit? Gasoline in Modesto would cost 0.04 cents a gallon more. A vehicle would cost $300 more for a $30,000 vehicle. The city of Modesto has a long history of boondoggles and getting involved in business dealings that it has no business getting into.

Measure X would be very bad for Modesto citizens, and then after six years they will want to extend it forever.
