Feds offer conservation assistance to Valley farmers

The federal Natural Resources Conservation Service has set a Nov. 15 deadline for farmers and ranchers to apply for a program that helps with projects aimed at protecting water, air, habitat and other resources.

Applicants who meet the deadline will have the first chance at funding from the Environmental Quality Incentives Program during the fiscal year that started Oct. 1.
