MODESTO — The Modesto Regional Fire Authority responded to two calls in south Modesto at the same time Sunday morning, with total damage estimated at $25,000.
The first dispatch at 6:29 a.m. involved the rear and attic of a home on the 100 block of Pueblo Avenue, Battalion Chief Alan Ernst said.
The responding crew saw smoke from another fire a few blocks away, on the 900 block of Alamo Avenue, and called in help, he said.
The second fire involved a shed, tires and vegetation.
Both blazes were contained within 20 minutes, and no injuries were reported. They drew a total of 10 engines and trucks from the Modesto department, the Ceres Fire Department and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District. The causes are under investigation.
