The Stanislaus River Salmon Festival will be held Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Knights Ferry Recreation Areas, 12 miles east of Oakdale off Highway 120. The fun, family event is held each year at the historic community at the height of the salmon migration on the Stanislaus River and this year is a big year for salmon in the river. See the old covered bridge; visit the town of Knights Ferry and see all the hands-on, kid-friendly booths at the festival. There will be fly casting, a salmon barbecue, live music, interactive exhibits and much more. Kids can make fish-print T-shirts and meet live river critters. To learn more, call J.D. Wikert at (209) 403-1046, email email@example.com or go to facebook.com/srsfest.
