MODESTO — Police will look for drunken drivers at sobriety checkpoints this weekend at undisclosed locations in Modesto.
Officers also will look for drivers without valid licenses at the checkpoints, according to Modesto police.
The first checkpoint will be conducted tonight, and the second checkpoint will occur Saturday night.
When possible, specially trained officers will evaluate drivers suspected of driving under the influence of drugs.
Police said those arrested could face jail time, loss of their licenses and increased insurance rates.
The checkpoints are funded by a grant from the state Office of Traffic Safety.
