MODESTO — A dinner with Bishop Stephen E. Blaire of the Stockton Diocese will be held next month in Modesto to benefit the dioceses vocation ministry.
Funds are needed to support the next class of Stockton Diocese seminarians studying for the priesthood as there is a widespread need in our area for priests, according to a news release. The annual cost per seminarian is $35,000 for tuition, room and board, with 11 students currently enrolled. In the future, as the ministry grows, seminarians in other dioceses will be able to receive much-needed funds.
Dinner with the Bishop will be Nov. 16 at Modesto Centre Plaza, 1000 L. St.
Hors doeuvres and silent auction begin at 5:30 p.m., with auction items available for earlier review at 5 p.m., and dinner at 6:30.
Sponsorships for group tables are available, from $2,000 to $10,000, and individual tickets are $50.
Tickets can be purchased at Great Smiles Dental Clinic, 3219 McHenry Ave., (209) 846-9274, and more information is available at the Families for Vocation and Healing Ministry website, www.fvhm.org. The deadline for donations and ticket purchases is Oct. 31.
