David S. Chaffey: Social Security delay all about lies

October 15, 2013

We have heard that unless the debt ceiling is raised before Nov.1, Social Security and SSI checks will be delayed. How can that be if the Social Security fund is solvent, like the Democrats have been telling us? The only way those checks could be delayed is if the fund is broke and needs borrowed money to fund it.

Not only that, but they told us a couple of weeks ago that Social Security checks would not be affected by the shutdown. Looks like they lied to us again! By the way, since the account deposits are computer-generated, no personnel are needed to send them, so that eliminates the argument that there are no personnel to send the money. We wouldn’t be going through this if Obama had lost the election.
