Time to print both sides of the story

October 11, 2013

Does journalism still exist at The Modesto Bee? Every other day, I get to read how it’s the “GOP” that’s causing this massive federal shutdown. I read today how Mariposa is dying, but nowhere in the article does it state that the “terrible” GOP actually passed legislation to keep federal parks open – right before the Democrat-led Senate shot it down.

Are you reporting that cones have been set up on public roads to prevent people from snapping pictures of Mt. Rushmore? No. Did you report that the feds shut down a privately owned parking lot at Mount Vernon to keep people out? Nope.

How about the fact that the Lincoln Memorial, open 24 hours a day, is barricaded to increase pain on Americans? No. Are you telling us that the GOP is standing their ground when it comes to massive federal debt and pushing off the Obamacare mandate, the same mandate that even the workers unions have turned against? Nah-ah. So how about we see some real journalism and not just one side of the story.
