Health care letdown

October 8, 2013

In 2009 President Barack Obama told the American people, “No matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan. Period. No one will take it away. No matter what.”

That hasn’t worked out to be true for me. Three days ago I received a letter canceling my health plan because of “mandates required by recent changes in health care law.” In checking to purchase a similar medical policy, I found that my new monthly fees would easily be doubled.

Obamacare has effectively forced me to purchase health care for not only myself, a taxpayer, but also for someone else, a tax user. Quick Internet searches show that there are many, many more unhappy Americans getting the same poor deal because of the “Affordable” Care Act. Thank you, Mr. Obama.
