Roundup: Beyer unbeaten in MMC; Patterson rallies, RC rolls

• BEYER 28, DAVIS 13, at Modesto — Nick Trujillo completed 13 of 20 passes for 234 yards, including three touchdowns, to put the Patriots atop the Modesto Metro Conference standings with Downey.

Trujillo completed touchdown pases to Paul Fagbamila (40), Zach Lewis (17) and Jared Barnettt (50). Fagbamila also recorded 15 tackles. Chas Parrott ran for 73 yards on eight carries, scoring on a 6-yard run in the fourth quarter. Davis scored on a 9-yard run from Teddy Wesley and a Preston Peacock 30-yard touchdown reception from Zack Magana.

• PATTERSON 28, CENTRAL VALLEY 25, at Patterson — The Tigers scored with about 50 seconds left as Damien Paulo connected with Avion Warmsley for 10 yards. It was a dramatic final few minutes as Patterson (5-0, 2-0 Western Athletic Conference) made a goal-line stand, then fumbled the ball on the first play of its possession. The turnover seemed to give Central Valley (2-3) new life, as Ja'Quan Gardner capitalized for a 19-yard touchdown, his third score of the night, to give the Hawks a 25-21 lead. Patterson got the ball back on the Central Valley 47-yard line with 1:12 to play, and soon after Paulo threw for his third and deciding touchdown. He finished with 183 yards passing. Gardner ran for 212 yards on 27 carries, with touchdown runs of 9, 6 and 19 yards. Michael Campbell had two interceptions for Patterson.

• RIPON CHRISTIAN 45, DENAIR 14, at Ripon — Andrew Brown scored five touchdowns and totaled 365 yards of offense for the Knights. Brown ran for 209 yards on nine carries, with touchdowns of 15, 70, 6 and 50 yards. He also caught five passes for 156 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown pass from Billy Mar. Mar finished with 247 yards passing on 10 of 18 attempts, four for touchdowns. Denair’s Weston Fair caught 11 passes for 103 yards. Denair quarterback Dominyc Silva scored on a 1-yard sneak in the second quarter and ended up with 204 passing yards.

• WATERFORD 28, GUSTINE 7, at Waterford — Josh Hickman connected with Angel Sosa for two touchdowns and scored another on a quarterback sneak to lead the Wildcats in their Southern League opener. Sosa caught scoring passes of 19 and 7 yards. Sosa caught four passes for 70 yards and had an interception.Waterford's Wesley Wright scored on his only carry of the game — a 45-yard dash — and recorded 10 tackles. For Gustine, Isaiah Figueroa totaled 114 yards on 26 carries.

• KIMBALL 42, EAST UNION 21, at Tracy — Victor Lopez scored two touchdowns for the Lancers (1-4, 0-2 VOL) on runs of 6 and 4 yards. Lucas Garcia accounted for East Union’s only other score, a 2-yard dash, in the fourth quarter. Gaige Allen had scoring runs of 26 and 76 yards for the Jaguars.

• ARGONAUT 50, CASTLEMONT 12, at Jackson — Emilio Pineta ran for three touchdowns to lead the Mustangs against winless Castlemont of Oakland in a nonleague game. Pineta scored on carries of 12, 10 and 9 yards. Joey Guidi had the longest touchdown run of the night — a 51-yarder in the fourth quarter.
