Movement's aim is immigration reform

October 4, 2013

A national movement calling for voters to stand together for immigration reform gathers for a forum at 9 a.m. today at 120 S. Emerald Ave. in Modesto. Organizers say the coalition of faith, business, labor and civil rights organizations will join Latino, Asian and immigrant communities to mobilize new voters as part of a growing movement seeking comprehensive immigration reform that includes a pathway to citizenship. The coalition’s message is “Now Is the Time – We Have the Votes,” with the movement dubbed the National Day of Action for Dignity and Respect.
