Two Oakdale convenience store robberies likely linked

October 4, 2013

Police are seeking the public’s help in solving a robbery and an attempted robbery at two 7-Eleven stores in Oakdale likely committed by the same person Thursday, authorities said. According to a news release, officers were called to the 7-Eleven on East F Street at 3:07 a.m. The clerk reported a man came in and tried to rob the store at gunpoint. The clerk refused the robber’s demands, so he ran away after a failed attempt to reach into the cash register. Minutes later, police said, a clerk at the 7-Eleven down the road on West F Street called, reporting a robbery. It’s not clear how much, if any, money was taken. The suspect in both incidents is described as a white male, 17 to 21 years old, possibly with dark hair and dark eyes. He is estimated to be between 5 feet, 8 inches, and 6 feet tall, with a skinny build and wearing a dark-brimmed baseball hat, gray baggy hooded sweat shirt and matching sweat pants and a dark bandanna covering the bottom part of his face. He wore red-soled high-top sneakers and gloves. Police ask anyone with information on the robberies to call Sgt. Joseph Carrillo at (209) 847-2231.
