Why not give both sides what they want?

October 2, 2013

It seems our government can’t work together. We no longer are the United States, but the divided states.

We’ve always had the majority vote on an issue be what was enacted and those who lost accepted that. Now those who lost claim the American people weren’t listened to, even though most Americans wanted something else and got it.

Maybe it’s time to do something different to get the country running again. Perhaps we should give both of the main parties half of the revenue and half of the debt. Then they enact what their own constituents want.

Republicans would get no health care and Democrats would. Republicans would get no welfare and Democrats would, etc. In employment, you could make trades like in sports. No one would be fired, but Chick-fil-A could trade a liberal employee to KFC for a conservative one, for example. See who has less debt, more surplus, and more prosperous, healthy constituents over time.

People who find their idea of heaven was really a hell could switch sides at any time. Maybe they would eventually start to work together again, once we try both ways to see what works.
