Police looking for man suspected of stalking joggers in Ripon

October 1, 2013

— Police in Ripon are looking for a man in a truck who apparently is stalking joggers. According to police, officers received a call at 6:10 a.m. Sept. 25 regarding someone in a red Chevrolet Silverado crew-cab pickup driving slowly near West Colony Road and Atlantic Avenue.

The caller reported that a man, described as a middle-aged Latino, had slowly driven by runners in the area for several days. Officers responded but could not find the man.

Police got a similar call Tuesday morning about a man driving a truck slowly near West Milgeo and North Acacia avenues. The caller said he believed this was the same driver and vehicle that had been following joggers in the area last week.

Officers responded to the area, but the vehicle could not be located. Officers will be increasing morning patrols in these areas, police said in a news release.

They are asking residents to call the Ripon Police Department if they see the truck or the man. Call (209)599-2102.
