St. Stanislaus Catholic Community in Modesto welcomes autumn with its Fall Festival this weekend. But ensuring fun for many meant work for many, which began Friday with setup and opening of the festival. Above, St. Stanislaus Catholic School fifth-grader Anthony Lopes sweeps the floor of the festival’s Country Store booth. Sales of pumpkins, carrots, apples and other produce donated by parents and parishioners will benefit the school and church. Right, Deacon Jim Kottinger tends to a grill full of linguica. The festival, at 1416 Maze Blvd., runs noon to 11 p.m. today, noon to 10 on Sunday.
