Merced College to offer workshop on cross-generational work force

Sun-Star staff reportsSeptember 27, 2013

Merced College will offer a two-day workshop on cross-generational teams in the work force, according to a press release.

Cross-generational teams face many challenges including communication issues, differing workplace values and misconceptions about workplace motivators, the release stated. Four generations of residents from different age groups are working next to one another.

Merced College plans a professional development workshop designed to outline the differences between the four generations and show how to effectively work with and lead cross-generational teams. The two-day workshop is scheduled from 8a.m. to noon on Thursday and Oct.10.

The classes will be at Merced College’s Business Resource Center, 630 W. 19th St. The workshop is $23, and participants earn a half-unit of college credit.
