Weekend DUI patrols coming to Modesto

local@modbee.comSeptember 26, 2013

— Police will look for drunken drivers tonight with saturation patrols throughout Modesto. The patrols are conducted by officers assigned solely to look for drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Modesto police also will deploy saturation patrols Saturday night. “The city of Modesto takes a very proactive approach toward DUI enforcement,” said Sgt. Craig Breckenridge of the Modesto police Traffic Unit.

“This is a zero-tolerance crackdown, so drive sober or get pulled over.” Police say those arrested face jail time, loss of their licenses and increased insurance rates. The patrols are funded by a grant from the state Office of Traffic Safety.
