Skateboarder suffers major injuries after he’s struck by vehicle in Turlock

This was the scene in Turlock on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2013, after a skateboarder was struck by a vehicle on East Avenue. The 19-year-old man was airlifted to a hospital, where he's being treated for life-threatening injuries.

— A 19-year-old skateboarder suffered life-threatening injuries when he was struck by a vehicle in Turlock on Thursday morning, authorities said.

The man was crossing East Avenue at 8:53 a.m. when he was hit by the vehicle traveling east, according to Officer Mayra Lewis of the Turlock Police Department.

The teenager was airlifted to a hospital. He was not wearing a helmet, Lewis said. There’s been no further information released at this point. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call (209) 664-7382.
