An unidentified 30-year-old man was shot Wednesday morning in southwest Modesto. The injury, reportedly to his face, was not life-threatening, officials said. He was in surgery at Doctors Medical Center at about 10 a.m., they added.
Stanislaus County Sheriff Sgt. Jeff Dirkse said the victim was apparently at a party during the night at a home in the 600 block of Colorado Avenue near Rouse Avenue. The Stanislaus County dispatch office reported an 8:07 a.m. call for officers to respond to the area, where they found the victim bleeding and walking.
Law enforcement officials were still working the scene at 10 a.m. They said a witness was cooperating with them and was expected to provide further details of the shooting and the suspect in the incident.
We will update this report when we have further information.
